On the dashboard, select the “API Integration” link to get to your API key. Once you’ve signed up you will be able to access detailed documentation as well as your API key via the dashboard. To utilize the OTX API feed, you’ll want to head over to to establish an account. For this example, we’re going to limit our ingestion to just IP’s, URLs, and hostnames, but many of the IOC's in OTX can be imported into the Azure Sentinel and Microsoft Defender ATP as indicators. OTX is an open community sharing various indicators of compromise (IOC’s) such as IP addresses, domains, hostnames, URL’s, SHAs, etc. While this blog is specifically about using AlienVault OTX, one could use this same methodology with most any API based data source. But what if you have a source of indicators or other enrichment data that you want to use in Azure Sentinel but no connector to ingest it with? While Ofer Shezaf has written a great blog post about creating custom connectors and Ian Hellen wrote up an outstanding blog about using OTX data in Jupyter Notebooks in Sentinel, this blog post is going to expand upon their work by walking through adding a custom Sentinel Playbook (Azure Logic App) to connect to Alien Vault’s Open Threat Exchange (OTX) REST API to ingest threat indicators for use in hunting and alerts. One of the key capabilities of Azure Sentinel has always been its ability to work with data from multiple sources including Threat Indicator Providers who can provide their data directly into the environment via the Microsoft Security Graph.

Particle sizing can also be used to monitor the dispersion of drugs in pharmaceuticals. Large polishing particles can either create large unwanted scratches or not polish at all if the particle size is not controlled. For example, polishing slurries can be used to create ultra smooth surfaces. Particle size is a key characteristic in fields where size control is necessary. The system is also equipped with a temperature control unit and an auto titrator to facilitate the study of temperature and pH value influences on particle size and agglomeration. It can perform the analysis of aqueous and non-aqueous samples as well as Zeta potentials of solid surfaces and membranes. The Delsa Nano C provides accurate size measurements in the range from 0.6 nm to 7 μm with sample concentration ranging from 0.001% to 40%. Offering an excellent degree of accuracy, resolution and reproducibility, the Delsa Nano C has been designed to simplify submicron particle size and zeta potential analyses. The Delsa Nano C utilizes Photon Correlation Spectroscopy and Electrophoretic Light Scattering techniques to determine particle size and zeta potential of materials. The particle sizing tests can be performed on a Delsa Nano C Nanoparticle Size and Zeta Potential Analyzer available in Ebatco’s Nano Analytical and Testing Laboratory (NAT Lab). The diffusion coefficient is determined by fitting the ACF using the Cumulants method from which the mean size is obtained using the Stokes-Einstein equation. The intensity fluctuations are collected as photon counts and correlated to generate the auto correlation function (ACF). Since the diffusion rate of particles is determined by their size, information about their size is contained in the rate of fluctuation of the scattered light. The scattered light is collected at a chosen angle, and is measured by a highly sensitive detector. The particles scatter the light, producing fluctuations in the scattering intensity as a function of time. As the particles of interest diffuse through the sample cell due to Brownian motion, an incident beam of laser light illuminates the particles. The coefficient is determined by accurately measuring the light scattering intensity of the particles as a function of time. Photon Correlation Spectroscopy (PCS), sometimes also referred as dynamic light scattering, is a technique used to determine the diffusion coefficient of small particles in a liquid. Where D is the diffusion constant, k B the Boltzmann’s constant, T the absolute temperature, ƞ 0 the viscosity, d the spherical particle diameter. The diffusion coefficient, D, is inversely proportional to the particle size according to the Stokes-Einstein equation: This motion causes the particles to diffuse through the medium. She said yes.Henson Alternative is The Jim Henson Company’s label for content created specifically and exclusively for adult audiences. It’s plainly not meant to be a bright and frisky “Dream,” and at times it goes slow and leaves you wanting something more ebullient and tangible.īut it erupts with laughter and whimsy often enough, and at the end of Thursday night’s enthusiastically received performance in the Eisenhower Theater, a real match was made as British actor Christopher Keegan invited his American girlfriend to the stage and proposed. The costumes are so casual that the lovers wear jeans, plaid shirts and boots (Vicki Mortimer is credited with the show’s design). The back and sides of the stage are great black voids, and the set is marked by stepladders and tools, plus a huge ragged curtain and a loose wooden grid that looks vaguely like a ship’s ribbing. By and large, the acting is vigorous and humorous, even though this is often a dark and spiky show. Miltos Yerolemou has an especially ripe time as the hammy Bottom, while Naomi Cranston (Helena), Akiya Henry (Hermia), Alex Felton (Lysander) and Kyle Lima (Demetrius) agreeably woo and brawl. That four-way romantic tangle and the knockabout business of the rude mechanicals preparing a play are largely unencumbered by actors working dummies, dolls or tools. There are no puppets worked by the mixed-up lovers Hermia, Helena, Demetrius and Lysander, for instance, despite pictures showing them on the Kennedy Center Web site. There are more, though apparently the production has shed some puppets since it premiered in England last year. David Ricardo-Pearce works them both as he acts the role puppeteers are always visible here. (Simon Annand)įairy king Oberon, whose vengeful trick leads to Titania’s infatuation with Bottom as an ass, is given superhuman scale with only two pieces - a large, serious-looking head and a giant mechanical puppet hand. “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” with David Ricardo Pearce as Oberon. It’s an odd Puck, to be sure: funny at times, half-baked at others, and most enchanting when it flies apart and disappears. Puck, for instance, is made up of small disconnected spare parts - a wicker basket, a handsaw and enough pieces that it takes three actors to work them all (and to give voice to this notoriously wicked fairy). On one level, it’s like watching kids play with blocks, and you can imagine cynical audiences looking back one day and saying, “Hey, remember that ‘Dream’ where the fairies were just, like, pieces of wood?” But it’s clear what Morris and Handspring, led by Adrian Kohler’s designs and constructions, have in mind with their partial puppets. The romance has an angry edge in this production by Handspring and the Bristol Old Vic, where Morris is artistic director, and the magic is so rough that a lot of the spirit world is conjured by the simplest puppets imaginable - wooden planks held by the actors and waved around as if they’re floating. That’s the elaborate, crude donkey that fairy queen Titania dotes on in this evergreen comedy of confused romance and magic. There is only one equine presence here, a hilarious Rube Goldberg donkey contraption that appears when Bottom is turned into an ass - pants yanked down as the hapless character is paraded about half nude, cheeks to the ceiling. English director Tom Morris and South Africa’s Handspring Puppet Company brought the world “War Horse,” a sensation thanks in large part to the show’s graceful, stunningly realistic life-size horse puppets.Įlegance is upended, however, in the Morris and Handspring collaboration on Shakespeare’s “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” that is part of the Kennedy Center’s World Stages theater festival through Sunday. Even for bus systems that do not run on time, whether or not one bus is late affects the arrival time of the next bus. However, this is not a true Poisson process because the arrivals are not independent of one another. (One instance frequently given for a Poisson Process is bus arrivals (or trains or now Ubers). In the stock case, we might know the average movements per day (events per time), but we could also have a Poisson process for the number of trees in an acre (events per area). Poisson processes are generally associated with time, but they do not have to be. With our website, the entire interval may be 600 days, but each sub-interval - one day - our website either goes down or it doesn’t.Ĭommon examples of Poisson processes are customers calling a help center, visitors to a website, radioactive decay in atoms, photons arriving at a space telescope, and movements in a stock price. The last point - events are not simultaneous - means we can think of each sub-interval of a Poisson process as a Bernoulli Trial, that is, either a success or a failure. Two events cannot occur at the same time. The average rate (events per time period) is constant. The occurrence of one event does not affect the probability another event will occur. We might have back-to-back failures, but we could also go years between failures due to the randomness of the process.Ī Poisson Process meets the following criteria (in reality many phenomena modeled as Poisson processes don’t meet these exactly): The important point is we know the average time between events but they are randomly spaced ( stochastic). Example Poisson Process with average time between events of 60 days. Hurricane Hole is located at 5130 Overseas Hwy #1, Key West, FL and is open every day from 11 am-11 pm. Scaffolds localize the signaling reaction to a specific area in the cell, a process that could be important for the local production of signaling intermediates. Localization of signaling components in the cell Ste5 has been proposed to direct mating signaling through the Fus3 MAPK by catalytically unlocking this particular kinase for activation by its MAPKK Ste7. An example is the Ste5 scaffold in the mitogen-activated protein kinase ( MAPK) pathway. Such changes may be able to enhance or inhibit the activation of these signaling proteins. Scaffolds may also be catalytic as interaction with signaling proteins may result in allosteric changes of these signaling components. Additionally, some signaling proteins require multiple interactions for activation and scaffold tethering may be able to convert these interactions into one interaction that results in multiple modifications. A common example of how scaffolds enhance specificity is a scaffold that binds a protein kinase and its substrate, thereby ensuring specific kinase phosphorylation. This assembly may be able to enhance signaling specificity by preventing unnecessary interactions between signaling proteins, and enhance signaling efficiency by increasing the proximity and effective concentration of components in the scaffold complex. Scaffolds assemble signaling components of a cascade into complexes. This particular function is considered a scaffold's most basic function. Scaffold proteins act in at least four ways: tethering signaling components, localizing these components to specific areas of the cell, regulating signal transduction by coordinating positive and negative feedback signals, and insulating correct signaling proteins from competing proteins. Three distinct domains of Ste5 were shown to associate with the protein kinases Ste11, Ste7, and Fus3 to form a multikinase complex. The first signaling scaffold protein discovered was the Ste5 protein from the yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae. 5 Other usage of the term Scaffold Protein.2.4 Insulating correct signaling proteins from inactivation.2.3 Coordinating positive and negative feedback.2.2 Localization of signaling components in the cell.
